Get A Nose Job
By Mc Dreamy
There are several reasons why one might choose to get a nose job, or rhinoplasty. Nose Jobs are a plastic surgery procedure which are done to improve the look or function of the nose. Some people may have something wrong with their septum, others may have broken their nose, and someone else may be looking to decrease the size of their nose through rhinoplasty. In any case, before deciding that you want to get a nose job it is wise to know why you are getting one and to consult a doctor. Do not seek out any doctors which are not qualified to practice plastic surgery or who offer their services at reduced rates.
Plastic
surgery is not something to seek out for a reduced price because nose
jobs can be a tricky procedure and an unqualified doctor could leave
your face permanently botched. Plastic surgery starts with a
consultation appointment with the doctor who will perform the surgery.
A surgery date will then be set, and the rhinoplasty will take place on
that date. You will not remember the surgery because you will be under
anesthesia, and you will wake up and endure a period of recovery.
The Nose Job Procedure
The process of a nose job starts with consulting a doctor. If you have broken your nose, the doctor will examine the damage and decide what the proper course of action will be to reconstructing your nose. If you are planning on getting plastic surgery to diminish the size of your nose of to reduce the appearance of a strong profile or large bump, you should talk to the doctor about what it is that you would like to see after your surgery. The doctor will evaluate and examine your nose and work with you to determine what will be done during surgery to achieve that desired look. He should go over what will be done during surgery with you and make sure to ask any questions regarding the surgery if you have any at that time. After this process you will decide on a date to come in for the surgery.
Rhinoplasty begins with going to the hospital where you will have your nose job surgery. You will change into a hospital gown and be wheeled into the area where you will go for anesthesia. The anesthesiologists will put a mask on you which is where you will breathe the anesthesia and go to sleep for the surgery. Anesthesia will put you completely to sleep and you will not feel or remember any part of the surgery. You will then be led to the operating room where the doctor will perform the surgery. After the surgery you will be taken to the recovery room which usually has a bed, a television and a bathroom. The recovery room is where you will wake up after surgery. You will spend a day or two in the recovery room at the hospital and will be released home when the doctor feels you are ready.
Nose Job Recovery
The recovery period in the hospital can be a bit painful but you will be medicated to a degree where you are not in terrible pain. By the time you are ready to go home the pain should have subsided and you will be on a reduced dose and different type of pain medication. You will be given a prescription for the pain and also an antibiotic to prevent any infection during recovery. The bandages that will be on your nose are going to be left on for upwards of a week, so it is wise not to plan anything important immediately after your surgery.
Do not attempt to take any of the bandages off on your own because only the doctor is certified to do that. The doctor will tell you when to come back so he can take off the bandages. On that date you will go back to the hospital and the doctor will remove the bandages and splints from your face. The nose will still be a bit tender after the bandage removal so it is wise not to involve yourself in any type of physical activity that could slow the process of the nose's healing.
